Therawand APTA Participation

During the dates of June 27-30, 2018, two of our Section on Women’s Health Board Members traveled to Austria, Vienna to present a workshop at IUGA 2018 hosted by the International Urogynecological Association.

Over 1,500 participants attended IUGA’s 43rd Annual Meeting in Vienna, which made the Austrian capital without a doubt the place to be in June 2018 for anyone with a strong interest in international developments in the field of urogynecology.

The Annual Meeting was a HUGE success in terms of the excellent scientific content and a record number of 677 abstracts submitted for presentation at this meeting.

Lora Mize (SoWH Vice President) and Carina Siracusa (SoW Director of Programming) attended this conference for putting together some multidisciplinary postpartum management guidelines on behalf of IUGA where they presented a workshop:  Gadgets and Gizmos a Plenty: Using Modalities to Treat Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. The mission of this workshop was to education attendees on how to identify the various modalities used to treat pelvic floor dysfunction, critically evaluate the evidence related to the use of modalities in treating pelvic floor dysfunction and identify appropriate patients to use modalities
with to treat their pelvic floor dysfunction

As part of their presentation, Lori and Carina wanted to take a moment to recognize our Section on Women’s Health education equipment sponsors which included your company, Pelvic Therapies, Inc (TheraWand).

We wanted to share this update with you along with some photos from IUGA 2018 which you may share with your company and industry friends. Section on Women’s Health appreciates your amazing support each year. We’d like to again express our big thank you for your continued support of our organization, our members, their education and the physiotherapy/physical therapy profession.

Sincerely,
